1. Lieu-in lieu of, in place of; instead of: He gave us an IOU in lieu of cash.
2. Tufts-A short cluster of elongated strands, as of yarn, hair, or grass, attached at the base or growing close together.
3. Prominent-standing out so as to be seen easily; conspicuous; particularly noticeable: Her eyes are her most prominent feature.
